I’m Megan, nice to meet you. I am originally from Fairfax, Virginia (close to Washington DC). I attended Furman University in Greenville, SC, and graduated with a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education. After graduation I taught for three years in Greenville, South Carolina at Blythe Academy, and then decided I wanted to see more of the world and began teaching internationally. I moved to China and taught fifth grade for two years and worked in administration for a year at Dalian American International School. I met my hubby in China, and from there we headed to Brazil for new adventures in teaching and life. While in Brazil I got my Masters in International Educational Administration in a blended program, meeting face to face in Madrid for two summers (poor me). We have been at Escola Americana de Campinas for four years now. For the first three years I taught fifth grade, and this year I am the elementary assistant principal.
Last March we welcomed our little boy into this world. My life was/is forever changed. There’s a whole lot of balancing going on nowadays between work, marriage, mommying, learning, and oh having time for myself. I wouldn’t have it any other way!
I’m stoked to be on this COETAIL pilgrimage to challenge my thinking, learn new ways to implement tech in the classroom and across our elementary, and make connections with other teachers around the world.
If you’re looking for my work before becoming an administrator you can check it out my classroom website here.
